Reality TV personality and fashion trailblazer Tebogo Ramokgadi turned heads at the Durban July with a bold, regal ensemble rich in symbolism, heritage and undeniable glamour.
While most attendees focused solely on glitz and flair, Ramokgadi brought legacy to the fore — honouring his royal lineage, history and roots in a powerful monochrome look with platinum undertones.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Tebogo said his jacket was fit for royalty, “I’m Tswana royalty, my great-grandfather and others discovered a place called Lemenong, which later became part of what is known today as the Royal Bafokeng Nation. The soil there is rich in platinum and so am I.”
That powerful connection inspired his Durban July jacket: structured, black and tailored with a platinum sheen that paid homage to his heritage.
“Platinum is my symbol. It represents who I am — strong, rare, valuable.”

The look was put together in collaboration with stylist and designer Graig, whom Tebogo met while filming an upcoming SABC reality fashion show still in development.
“The show looks at fashion and celebrities in South Africa. That’s how we connected — both passionate about storytelling through style,” Tebogo said.
The rest of the look delivered pure fashion finesse: a crisp white shirt, flowing black trousers, and a regal black cape coat draped effortlessly over the shoulders. A black sinamay headpiece crowned the outfit — a nod to classic Durban July flamboyance with a high-fashion twist.
With bold red lips and a sleek low bun, Tebogo’s confidence was matched only by his elegance. Tebogo isn’t just here for fashion.
“I’ll be attending more than four marquees, and I’m really looking forward to catching up with celebs and influencers. For me, it’s also about networking and celebrating South African talent.”
