Veteran actor Obed Baloyi is set to make an appearance at the upcoming Emalahleni Film Festival — and he’s excited to be part of the celebration of local talent and storytelling.

Baloyi, known for his roles in Muvhango, Scandal, Giyani: Land of Blood and Yizo Yizo 3, is a respected figure in South African entertainment. With a career spanning more than 30 years, he’s also made a mark in theatre, most notably with his award-winning play Ga-Mchangani.

The festival runs from August 7-9 at Emalahleni City Hall, Mpumalanga.

“I’m honoured to be part of a platform that uplifts local stories and inspires future generations,” he said.

A Safta-winning actor and passionate mentor, Baloyi is expected to take part in panel discussions and workshops during the festival, which celebrates local film and creative voices in Mpumalanga.

Festival organisers say Baloyi’s presence will bring invaluable experience and inspiration to the event.
