745 Records is making waves once again with the release of its latest EP Mngani Wami, a bold, purposeful musical offering that seeks to uplift, empower and heal. More than just a collection of songs, Mngani Wami is a call to action and a celebration of self-worth, independence and mental wellness, it says.
According to the label, Mngani Wami goes beyond beats and lyrics — it's “an artistic tool aimed at addressing critical issues such as mental health awareness, financial independence and the importance of owning one's happiness”. At its core, the EP encourages listeners to embrace their identities unapologetically and take pride in their personal journeys, regardless of societal expectations.
“We wanted to create music that speaks to the soul, that says, ‘It’s OK to be who you are and to put yourself first,’” says a representative from 745 Records. “Mngani Wami is about more than good vibes it’s about healing, hope and having honest conversations.”
The EP features the unmistakable voice of Nosizwe, affectionately known as the first lady of 745 Records. A dynamic and multitalented figure, Nosizwe brings depth and authenticity to the project. Her credentials are as impressive as her voice: she is a Graca Machel Scholar, a qualified agricultural economist (Stellenbosch University), and a dedicated facilitator of business empowerment programmes in the eThekwini region, working under the municipality’s business support directorate.
Beyond music, Nosizwe is deeply invested in social affect and women’s empowerment — ideals that shine through in her vocal delivery and lyrical choices on the EP.
745 Records says it is on a mission: to restore the integrity, sustainability and heart of the creative industry. With Mngani Wami, the label extends an open invitation to every individual, across every race and profession, to reconnect with their inner creative to discover, nurture and share their talents unapologetically.
