R&B DJ Muntu is set to resume gigs after a health scare.

The Durban-based DJ was hospitalised last month, forcing him to postpone gigs, much to the disappointment of his fans across the country.

DJ Muntu was admitted to Wentworth Hospital in Durban to treat an undisclosed medical issue. During his recovery, he had to cancel or delay at least nine scheduled performances, including appearances at major Sunday Soul Sessions and private events.

Taking to his social media pages earlier this week, the DJ shared an update with his followers: “Join me on September 28 at The Castle Restaurant for Sunday Soul Sessions alongside my brother Collen Zondo. Thank you very much for the continuous support and prayers through these trying times. You are truly appreciated.”

Fans and fellow artists flooded the comments with messages of relief and excitement, with many expressing their eagerness to see him back doing what he does best.

DJ Muntu is known for his soulful sets that blend classic R&B with contemporary local sounds, and his Sunday Soul Sessions have become a staple in Durban's nightlife scene.
