Popular Durban-based spinner DJ Sox, real name Mbuso Sokhela, is gearing up for a massive celebration as he embarks on a three-month-long birthday tour alongside fellow DJ and producer Mthi HD.
The tour officially kicks off this Saturday and will take the dynamic duo across South Africa and into parts of the Sadc region.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, DJ Sox shared his excitement about the tour.
“We’re really looking forward to this tour. Even our neighbouring countries will get a glimpse of our performance, as we’ll be touring Mozambique and Botswana, with Tanzania still to be confirmed,” he said.
The tour promises a high-energy experience, featuring a blend of classic and fresh house beats that have cemented DJ Sox’s reputation in the industry over the past two decades. The award-winning DJ said the tour will also celebrate the fans who have supported him throughout his career.
“We wanted to give back to our supporters in a special way. This tour is not just about celebrating a birthday, it’s about connecting with the people who’ve been on this journey with us from the start,” he added.
While specific venues and dates are still under wraps, DJ Sox confirmed they will be announced on their respective social media platforms in the coming days.
“Keep an eye on our socials we’ll be revealing all the dates and cities soon. We can’t wait to party with everyone across the continent,” he said.
Fans can expect surprise guest appearances, exclusive merchandise and a musical experience that pays tribute to the legacy of Durban house music while embracing New-Age sounds.
