Penny Ntuli has addressed her viral video twerking on the N3 South at Ultra City Estcourt.
The radio presenter recently shot up trends lists after a video of her and a friend dancing, bending over and twerking for oncoming traffic while on the side of the road circulated on social media.
Taking to TikTok, Penny said after driving a long distance she parked on the side of the road to stretch and enjoy the scenery.
“Please note this is not an apology video, just addressing a few things,” she captioned the video.
“I'm not doing this video to apologise. I just want to talk because I can see a lot of talk around it that makes it seem like something it's not. What I did was not meant to hurt anyone.
“Some things happen because I'm Penny Ntuli. if I were someone else, no-one would have been talking about it.”
Penny said though she admits she was wrong, she did not want to be put on a pedestal simply because she was a public figure.
“I saw a lot of comments saying I can't handle my alcohol. I don't touch alcohol. All I do, I do with a sober mind. There's nothing I do with alcohol in my system. This should not be a new challenge, please don't be on the freeway doing what I did.
“We hear of accidents that happen on the N3 and I understand my elders speak about that out of concern. Though there was no harm caused, there could have easily been an accident. Anything could have happened; the truck drivers could have easily lost concentration and swerved out of their lane.
“When I watched the video, when the excitement was over, I saw I put my life in danger and I can see where my elders are coming from.”

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) condemned her behaviour, stressing it is illegal for pedestrians to be on the freeway, let alone behaving in such a way.
“The RTMC is astonished by this behaviour on our national roads. Pedestrians under the NRTA are prohibited on the freeways and it’s illegal. Content creators should not risk their lives for 'likes'.”
