After months of hard work and soul-searching, singer Nosizwe is overjoyed to have finally released her long-awaited EP Mngani Wami, which dropped on Friday.
Described as a bold and purposeful musical offering, Mngani Wami is more than just a collection of tracks — it's a heartfelt project that aims to uplift, empower and heal. The title, which means “my friend” in isiZulu, reflects the EP’s deeply personal and communal message, offering solace and strength to anyone on a journey of self-discovery.
“This project is very close to my heart,” Nosizwe shared. “It's about recognising your worth, standing in your truth and understanding that your story matters. I wanted to create something that could be a companion, a friend to people navigating life’s ups and downs.”
According to her label, Mngani Wami goes beyond beats and lyrics. It's “an artistic tool aimed at addressing critical issues such as mental health awareness, financial independence and the importance of owning one's happiness.”
The six-track EP blends soulful melodies with poignant storytelling, tackling themes like anxiety, self-worth, liberation and love both of self and others. Nosizwe’s distinctive voice and raw honesty offer listeners both comfort and inspiration.
At its core, Mngani Wami encourages listeners to embrace their identities unapologetically and take pride in their personal journeys, regardless of societal expectations.
“I hope when people hear these songs, they feel seen and heard. We are often told to shrink ourselves or to endure silently but Mngani Wami is my way of saying, 'You are enough, and you’re not alone,'” she said.
Nosizwe has hinted at upcoming live performances and listening sessions aimed at sparking real conversations around the themes explored in the EP.
With Mngani Wami, Nosizwe not only reaffirms her place in the music industry but also establishes herself as a powerful voice for healing and transformation.
