Because it'll keep you up all night - and remind you how great fiction can be wrought from history, politics and the news.

One book on your summer reading list, and why?

Zoo City by Lauren Beukes. Everyone's talking about it. It sometimes seems to me that the only way to write about Johannesburg is as science fiction.
