Glamour pusses were out in full force at the Glamour Women of the Year.

THE EVENT:
Glamour Women of the Year

WHERE:
54 on Bath, Johannesburg WHEN: Wednesday night

THE VIBE:
Glamour pusses and gay best friends were out in full force. The lighting was low and drinks flowed freely, which meant the conversation did the same.

THE HOST:
Though she shared the stage with hunky actor Alan Santini and the face of Revlon, Bonang Matheba, Glamour Magazine editor Pnina Fenster stole the limelight as usual with her flaming locks and signature red lipstick. 'Glamour Women of the Year Awards honour celebrities, politicians, local leaders, entrepreneurs and athletes who help empower and inspire women every year', she said, asking for a standing ovation for Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

OVERHEARD:
Boutique owner and socialite Peta Eggierth-Symes commented on event- hopping with party animal Jen Su: 'She's inexhaustible. She can do four events in a night. It's mad. She even changes outfits in between each event - does a Peter Parker in the car'.

WTF:
Thuli Madonsela - who won the Woman of Courage award - needed protection. She was swamped by people who wanted to take selfies with her.

30 SECONDS WITH: THULI MADONSELA

We'd love to smother you in gratitude: I'm touched. It amazes me how kind people are to me when I'm just doing my job.

But you mean so much to South Africans: Thank you, but it is the effort of my entire team, who don't always get the credit.

What are you wearing? A blue dress by a dressmaker called Joyce in Pretoria.

Are you going home to Pretoria tonight? Yes, I have a driver.
