All the big winners at the E! People's Choice Awards 2018

Avengers: Infinity War, Melissa McCarthy, Nicky Minaj, BTS and Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments were among the big winners at the E! People's Choice Awards 2018, which took place in Santa Monica, California, last night.

This annual award show sees fans vote for their faves in a range of categories including Movies, Music, TV and Pop Culture.

Avengers: Infinity War beat out Black Panther in both the Movie and Action Movie of the year categories. Scarlett Johansson was also named Female Movie Star of 2018 for her role as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in the popular superhero blockbuster.

That's not to say Black Panther went without recognition. Chadwick Boseman was named Male Movie Star of the year for his role as the title character, while Danai Gurira took home Action Movie Star of 2018 for her performance as Wakanda general Okoye.

Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments cleaned up in the TV category. It was named both the overall best show and the most bingeworthy show of the year. Its stars, Harry Shum and Katherine McNamara, received the awards for Best Male and Best Female TV Star respectively.

Actress Melissa McCarthy was honoured to receive the first-ever People's Icon Award and also scooped up the trophy for Comedy Movie Star of 2018 for her role in Life of the Party.

Rapper Nicki Minaj was crowned Female Artist of 2018 and also won Album of the Year for Queen. While South Korean boy band BTS scored awards for Song and Music Video of 2018 for their track Idol; they were also named Group and Social Celebrity of the year.
