South Africa will soon add Polish chickens to its list of imported meats.

The deal kicked off on Monday this week‚ said Andrzej Krezel‚ head of trade and investment at the Polish Embassy.

The first container of Polish chickens are expected to reach South Africa in two months‚ the Polish embassy said.

The deal‚ negotiated since 2013‚ will see Poland export poultry meat with bones‚ mechanically de-boned meat‚ as well as offal meats to South Africa‚ Krezel said.

"The limit is the capacity of the market to absorb the product‚ so it is unlimited in terms of quota imposed by the government‚ but is limited by the purchasing power and the interest in the product‚" said Krezel.
