Mampara of the week: Lynne Brown

The nation mistook this Mampara for a heroine when she blocked the payment of a R30-million golden handshake to Brian Molefe after he left Eskom to join parliament.

But her endorsement of Molefe's return to Eskom — despite the cloud hanging over his head since former public protector Thuli Madonsela linked him to the Guptas — raises questions over the role of the minister of public enterprises in state capture.

Clearly, all the praises that were showered on this Mampara were misplaced.
