In addition to dealing with unruly MPs this week, Baleka Mbete might have faced guests annoyed that she arrived two hours late for her own party. But those attending the Speaker's Ball on Wednesday night didn't turn a hair at the tardiness of the "international award-winning speaker of parliament" - as EFF members have taken to calling her.Mbete cited "hair dilemmas" as a reason for the delay. When she finally arrived, her first motion was to chill out. "Everybody who is here I take it is here because of love. I really just want people to have an easy time, because in this life we are always running and are always hectic and tonight is just for us to give ourselves permission to have fun," she said.Mbete was spoiling herself, her children Nonkululeko and Zweli and a few friends to five- star dining at 5 Rooms Restaurant in Constantia.Guests included ANC treasurer-general Zweli Mkhize, Small Business Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu and Cape Town International Jazz Festival founder Rashid Lombard. Had chats, reassured one another about who we are and celebrated the fact that we are together," said Mbete...
