Motivational speaker Themba “Skeem GP” Lukhele says he doesn't have aspirations of being a pastor.

Skeem GP recently went to Dukathole High School in Katlehong, Gauteng, for his school talks, but as he was speaking to pupils about the importance of education and believing in God, some of them apparently experienced “spiritual attacks”.

A video clip of Skeem GP praying for a pupil who “fell under the power” has been doing the rounds on social media.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Skeem GP shed light on the incident.

“We just teach boys and girls about those things. We've picked up that there are things happening in our schools which are very disturbing, and that's what evokes emotions,” he said.

“As I was giving the word of the lord, a learner was spiritually attacked. Teachers and the principal were called, so I decided to pray for the learner until she was well. In everything I do, I will pray to God to give me more wisdom and strength,” he said.

He continues: “The school I went to is Dukathole. The school is underperforming. After not performing well a lot of kids undergo initiation rituals (ukutwasa). Whatever problem they experience they throw it in that initiation as an excuse for not doing well at school, whether it's drinking ARVs or having a drug problem.”

When TshisaLIVE asked Skeem GP if he has aspirations of becoming a pastor, he said: “No, I'm just a civilian.”
