N2 closed briefly due to protests in Cape Town
Traffic was diverted after reports of stone throwing on the N2 freeway near Borcherds Quarry in Cape Town on Friday.
Authorities closed the N2 incoming at the R300 and diverted motorists.
Traffic Services spokesperson Maxine Bezuidenhout said the road was cleared of protesters and later reopened.
One Twitter user shared a video clip of the temporary chaos on the stretch of road.
