Johannesburg's City Power says it will intensify raids to combat cable theft.
This after 17 cable theft incidents were reported in the city between Friday and Sunday night.
Eight suspects were arrested, including a metal scrapyard manager.
Acting CEO Tshifularo Mashava said: “We will be working with other stakeholders until we win this war against cable theft.
“We also call on scrapyard owners to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.”
