The race heats up for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) boss as interviews continue on Thursday at the Union Buildings.
Acting national director of public prosecutions (NDPP) Silas Ramaite was the first of the short-listed candidates grilled by the eight-member interviewing panel on Wednesday, with a panel member saying he "deprived them from insight" into the NPA.
Ramaite has been acting NDPP since August this year when the Constitutional Court found that former boss Shaun Abrahams’ appointment was invalid. He has been a deputy director of public prosecutions for more than 15 years.
