Akhumzi Jezile's death has left those close to him devastated.

TV producer and writer Portia Gumede has shared the last conversation she had with TV star Akhumzi Jezile, which left her with a deep sense of regret.

Those close to Akhumzi, Thobani Mseleni and Siyasanga Kobese have been struggling to come to terms with their deaths after they were killed in a fatal car crash near Queenstown on Saturday morning. Two other people were also killed in the accident.

As thousands of fans, friends and industry colleagues continue to remember the memories they've shared with the stars, Portia reflected on the last text message Akhumzi sent her.

"I haven't had any big regret this year until now. I got a text that said, 'Akhumzi misses you so much. He can't wait to see you. Please come through'."

Portia said that she regrets not making it to a lunch date with Akhumzi and another planned date with Siyasanga, who loved dancing with her son.

"I didn't make it to that lunch with him and friends. The text remains & grief of me not making it is crippling."

The TV producer added that she was sorry for not making it to meet Siyasanga a week ago and that the singer was adamant about Portia taking her son along.

"You were adamant I must bring my son. You were always the one to insist he dance with you when you came by. I regret. My son had a chance to say bye but I messed it up. #RipSiyasangaKobese I'm sorry."
