Last week DJ Shimza was dragged by Twitter after he posed a question to the owner of 2018 December, King Monada, about being open to change his sound, a question tweeps felt was undermining the great Malwede hitmaker.

DJ Shimza came out to clarify to TshisaLIVE that he posed an innocent question that was somehow blown out of proportion and misinterpreted by Twitter. He said he wanted to set the record straight that he didn't have any malicious intentions by asking it.

"The thing is (social) media and you media always blow things out of proportion. That question was never meant as an attack. I wasn't telling Monada to change his sound. Instead I was asking Monada if he was open to change into another sound to maybe appeal to other parts of the country. Or if he was comfortable in being a star only in the North. That thing was changed to sound like I was saying Monada must change his sound, I wasn't," Shimza said.

Shimza was dragged on social media after he asked Monada if he would be willing to change his sound to get a bigger audience.

The Malwede boss was a guest on Metro FM's afternoon drive show when host Mo Flava spoke about the impact the star has had on the industry. Mo shared how other artists have reacted to Monada's music, including Shimza, who apparently had pointers for Monada.

Twitter wasn't there for his question at all.

The DJ, who will be hosting his one man show for charity in December, said he wasn't being nasty with his question.

"Monada didn't even take offence, he replied on the spot saying that he's willing to collaborate with everyone, no matter their type of sound but for him."

The bottom line?

Shimza doesn't have beef with Monada or his hit track.

Okay?
