The River actress Tinah Mnumzana took to Instagram very quickly to set the record straight after her followers assumed she had tied the knot.

The star said people misunderstood an outfit she wore — one she said was suitable for a "welcoming the bride" ceremony.

“Joo Bathong, there seem to be a huge misunderstanding regarding my previous post. I was NOT getting married. A friend of mine was. Look, due to Covid-19 my friend and his family were not able to welcome makoti into the Moerane family where dikgomo tsa bona di ileng. So I was invited ha ho amohelwa makoti. I was just one of the speakers and I dressed up accordingly. That's all good people. JOO, now my 'potential' is equally confused. Me married? Njani? It's just a misunderstanding my dear. Stru,” she said.

Wedding bells have, however, been ringing loudly in celebville and with all the sorrow that accompanied the pandemic and subsequent natural disasters, it has been a breath of fresh air to witness joy in action.

The most recent start to be bitten by the happily-ever-after bug is Asanda Foji.

She and her husband have finally sealed the deal after completing their cultural matrimonial process, welcoming the bride in a ceremony called Ukwamkelwa Komkhwenyana.

On Instagram, the actress has been sharing snaps from the three-day ceremony in the Eastern Cape.

In a post, Asanda recalled how her husband promised to marry her five years ago, gushing that he'd kept his word.

“When he and his uncles came back again last week to rightfully claim his wife and their makoti, I thought, my king, my baby love, my nunus, my soul mate has really kept his word and did right by me after every heartbreak, setback, evil we have had to fight against together!” she wrote.
