On July 11 2010 Sunday Times Business Times published an article "Sentech head resigns after charges".

The then acting CEO of Sentech, Beverley Ngwenya, lodged a complaint with the Press Ombudsman that Business Times was in breach of the Press Code in that we failed to seek her comment on the allegations contained in the article prior to publication.

Had we done so, Ngwenya would have had an opportunity to submit correspondence demonstrating that she had indicated her intention to defend herself against threatened disciplinary charges by the board of Sentech, which related to procedural matters only.

No charges were laid.

Ngwenya subsequently resigned to take up a senior position elsewhere. We regret any embarrassment or inconvenience caused to her.
