The National Zoological Gardens in Pretoria are taking the conservation message to the public for this year's Heritage Day by featuring a kangaroo joey called Norvy.

Last years the celebrations were well received by the public. This year visitors will again be entertained by storytellers, face painters as well as the various animal talks, which will be at no extra cost to visitors.

Every day at noon, visitors will stand a chance to meet Norvy the famous red kangaroo baby. This presents a great opportunity to see a kangaroo joey of this age, she would be in her mothers pouch for 4 months. It is important to learn about conservation, especially as heritage day is approaching.

Visitors are invited to bring picnic baskets, braai facilities are also available.

The celebrations run from 22 - 24 September.

Entrance fee: R60 Adults, R40 for children under the age of 15 years.
