A sunset proposal on one of Cape Town’s most spectacular residential streets shows why houses there sell for tens of millions.

A drone video of Niv Haver going down on one knee to propose to Daniel Lavi‚ his girlfriend of six years‚ shows Cape Town in all its summer glory.

“The proposal was at our favourite spot in Cape Town‚ ‘the rock’‚ which is on Ocean View Drive in Fresnaye‚” Haver‚ 27‚ told ABC News.

Drone photographer Chad Nathan said: “This was a very special project for us as we helped secure the couple’s magic moment in time forever.”

Haver and Lavi are from Israel but visit Cape Town often for holidays.

“I arrived in Cape Town four weeks before Daniel and I knew I was going to propose to her so I went to the rock every Sunday to make sure it would run smoothly‚” he said.

He arranged for a group of friends to hide below their location with champagne‚ flowers and sparklers.

With an engagement ring hidden in his sock‚ Haver suggested he and Lavi watch the sunset before dinner.

“Daniel and I will cherish this memory for life‚” Haver told ABC News. “This is our favourite place in the whole of Cape Town.” – TMG Digital/The Times
