Snuggle up this weekend‚ it'll be wet and cold

Onesies and Wellington boots are the weekend's order with snow and floods expected as a cold front sweeps across the country.

On Friday the South African Weather Service warned that certain parts of the Western Cape were expected to experience flooding and Cape Town's thermometer is expected to drop to 15 degrees in the evening.

The Eastern Cape faces danger on two fronts this weekend - snow and wild fires are expected. The weather serviced issued a warning of fires breaking out in the Queenstown region. The province will also have to deal with wind speeds of 62km/h along the coast.

Snowfalls are expected on some mountains of KwaZulu-Natal on Friday night‚ bringing the thermometer to single figures in the Drakensberg region.

Landlocked provinces won't be spared either; the cold front is expected to move inland on Friday and Saturday.

Gauteng will drop to 11 degrees and the North West will hit single figures on Saturday night.

The weather service has issued warnings to the public‚ especiall small stock farmers‚ about the wet and cold conditions.

So pour yourself a cup of steaming cocoa and snuggle up‚ it's going to be cold weekend.
