The perfect partnership between wine and citrus

As Zandvliet Wine Farm is near Ashton, their unique wine tastings combine ClemenGold flavours with a variety of their wines. The story of Zandvliet is all about shiraz, it being one of South Africa's first shiraz producers with a history that extends back to first plantings during the 1870s. In February 2015 ANB Investments took ownership of the farm.Much of the 145ha then under vines was uprooted; some to make way for new plantings and some to make way for citrus. Due to the ideal climatic and soil profile, as well as the fact that this is a citrus blackspot-free area, a range of citrus cultivars is being established, including 100ha of Nadorcott mandarin (ClemenGold), 100ha of Eureka SL2 lemons, 50ha of Leanri mandarin, 40ha of Orri mandarin and 10ha of IRM2 mandarin. And what better way to celebrate the partnership between a wine brand and a citrus brand than with these pairings:Zandvliet Estate Chardonnay and ClemenGold marmaladeThe chardonnay boasts refreshing fruity flavours and paired with the marmalade (served on a water biscuit) offers a delightfully zesty citrus flavour.Zandvliet Kalkveld Shiraz and ClemenGold dark chocolateThe wine with dark berry flavours and rich aromatic spiciness marries well with the rich dark cocoa and citrus flavours.Zandvliet Vintage Liqueur Wine and ClemenGold panfortePiquant spicy flavours of panforte, with the dark fruit and ripe plum aromas of the vintage liqueur - pure heaven.Zandvliet My Best Friend Muscat and ClemenGold biscottiDo as the Italians do: dip biscotti into muscat for a few seconds to absorb the wine and enjoy. For more information visit www.zandvliet.co.za or contact them at 023-615-1146...
