Justice Minister Jeff Radebe says he is satisfied with the performance of the NPA ("Overcrowded jails a sign that the NPA is working: Radebe", yesterday). But he is the president's choice as justice minister. The same president appointed Menzi Simelane as NPA head.
The president also chose Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng to head the Constitutional Court, notwithstanding his having justified a minimal sentence for a rape because the rapist "didn't hurt the girl".
