In response to 'Don't ban-boozle us', I'm no expert but how will there be a loss of tax revenue? The amount not spent on advertising will surely become taxable in the hands of the liquor advertiser?
I've always been against these big sponsorships. It normally goes to those who need it least.
Think how many houses could have been build with this money.
To me huge sponsorships are indicative of consumer rip-off by the company involved. Drop your prices or do something that benefits the community at large.
I make a point of not buying products from companies that sponsor the successful.
