Professor Jonathan Jansen makes a lot of sense when he talks about education, but when he ventures into questions of race, he emits a dangerous de-education.

Emphasis on portraying interaction among races as progress, especially interaction where the African is recipient of some "charity" from the ever-generous white, perpetuates the stereotype of white supremacy.

There is nothing progressive in socialisation between races. It is something coincidental to people finding each other, where there is recognition of value in each other.

Progress is characterised by development of individuals.

Anyone whose interest is in Africans reaching the highest heights in the sciences, arts, innovation and sport would love to hear of research by African scholars at Jansen's university, or the equivalent, not how they smile with other humans.
