Politicians will try to divide us in 2019. We must resist

With the SA spectacle, as at Clifton, the one party must “out-race” and “out-black” the other in a show of opportunism that does nothing to dismantle the inequalities of race and class that bedevil social cohesion in our country.

And it is going to get worse, in parliament and on the streets, as we rush headlong towards the elections.
