TOMORROW'S Channel O Music Video Awards are akin to the "Olympics of music", according to three-times nominated Khuli Chana.

The event will be held at Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto.

Yesterday's rehearsals in Kliptown in the newly assembled dome next the Soweto Hotel saw choreographer Somizi Mhlongo run the rule over performers and dancers.

Chana was rehearsing the Tswa Daar remix with Nigerian star Ice Prince (also the co-host of the show with Bonang Matheba).

"Being the most nominated [South African] is exciting but also makes me nervous," he said.

"I don't think South Africans understand that we're in competition with other countries. It's like the Olympics of music videos, and if you don't vote we look like lamos [lame]. This is a race, it's serous."

Chana's hit Tswa Daar , featuring Notshi, has been nominated for the most gifted male video, the most gifted hip-hop video and the most gifted video of the year.

To win the awards he will need to beat the likes of PRO, L-Tido, Toya Delazy, D'Banj and many other artists from around the African continent.

The awards ceremony will be televised tomorrow at 8pm on DStv channel 320.
