Every now and then a reader brightens my rather depressing inbox with a story of exceptional customer service, and since this is the season of good cheer, I’m going to share one of them.

Told by her local service station that she had a leak in her windscreen, and that she should get it fixed before this caused her engine to rust, Liz Alp took her car to Glasfit’s Umhlanga branch.

“When the job was completed I was concerned as to how much it was going to cost me, but Glasfit’s Amrish Singh said I didn’t need to pay anything - just like that; all done for nothing.”

“Where in the world do you get service like that and not have to pay?

“I am overwhelmed by the generosity and very kind treatment I had from all the staff with whom I had contact.”

Have you been on the receiving end of wonderful, feel-good service lately?

Please tell me about it, and I’ll share the “wow” service stories, to give credit where it’s due, and balance the many bad service accounts.
