The Linksys Wi-Fi range extender is one of those products where I was really scratching my head on how to review it.

That is not a knock on it - It is a handy little gadget – but it really only does one thing even if it does do it very, very well.

If you have a home Wi-Fi network, it allows you to extend its range.

I live in a townhouse complex – and I found I got reception all the way up to the gate. I could also access my Wi-Fi network at the complex’s pool, which I am pretty sure is further away than it is designed for.

If you want to eliminate dead spots in your home Wi-Fi network – this should do the trick.

All you need to do to set it up is plug it in and switch it on. You might want to spend a little bit of time finding the ideal spot for it (Which will likely not be the place you thought of) but really, it is incredibly easy to set up.

So easy that I spent a good five minutes looking for instructions because I didn’t think it could be that easy. You just plug it in, and switch it on.

The only real caveat I have on set up is that it comes with a two pin plug. It is a small thing, but I still believe that electronics sold in South Africa should plug into South African sockets.

After using it for a couple of weeks, I had no complaints. It does what it says it does, and it does it well.
