Botswana is currently faced with its worst drought since 1981. In January Botswana's second president, Sir Ketumile Masire, lost 89 zebras to water scarcity, according to AllAfrica.

So when the skies finally opened up and rain fell on the park on 9 May, the lions took advantage of the drops that accumulated on Lubbe's tent.

Lubbe commented that the experience was special.
