Bezuidenhout wants wedded bliss

BIG Brother Africa winner Richard Bezuidenhout is convinced he can get his wife back.

Speaking to The Times yesterday, Bezuidenhout said his wife of seven months was waiting for him in Tanzania, and they were set to sort out their relationship once he returned home.

Bezuidenhout's flirting with fellow contestant Tatiana Durao while in the house led to rumours that his wife had fled to Canada and was filing for divorce. It was said she was going to claim at least half of his $100 000 winnings. Bezuidenhout yesterday denied the claims.

He said: "I have not yet spoken to her but my brother has. She is in Tanzania waiting for me to get back so we can talk."

He said he hoped she would give him the opportunity to explain what had happened in the Big Brother house.

"I don't know what to expect from her. I will have to deal with things as they come," he said.

Bezuidenhout yesterday maintained he could not remember anything about the drinking binge that led to some viewers claiming he sexually abused two contestants.

Back at home, Ricki Bezuidenhout had been one of her husband's most ardent fans, even starting a blog to gain support for him. But she closed it as soon as he started getting romantic with Duroa.

Bezuidenhout, who leaves for Tanzania today, said he had not watched the explicit sexual footage. It is unclear if he will do so before returning home.
