The two were part of a five-man gang who tied up a security guard at the shop in Halfway House around 2am on Wednesday, Inspector Mmakgomo Semono said.

They allegedly ransacked the shop and loaded 93 car radios, computer monitors and a laptop into a panel van and drove off. The guard managed to untie himself and pressed a panic button.

A private security company responded and followed the van to a petrol station in the area. Police were called to the scene, but by the time they arrived three of the robbers had run away.

The two arrested would soon face charges of robbery and possession of stolen goods in the Midrand Magistrate's Court.
