ANC deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa says that President Jacob Zuma will lead the country to greater heights and leave a lasting legacy.

Dubbing Zuma "Mr Action", Ramaphosa said yesterday that the time for paying lip service was over. He said Zuma was committed to working to achieve the aspirations of South Africans.

"Talk time is over, we want action and action man Jacob Zuma is going to make sure that this country moves forward. Right now our 'Mr Action', Jacob Zuma, is very committed.," said Ramaphosa during his address at an ANC cadre forum in Pietermaritzburg.

He said Zuma's leadership would leave a legacy that would benefit the country for many years to come.

Ramaphosa said the infrastructure roll-out project outlined by Zuma last year during his state of the nation address and the National Development Plan and other initiatives, would yield much-desired results such as addressing unemployment and eliminating poverty.

He said the ANC, would not fail in attaining a national democratic society that would benefit all. Ramaphosa said that Zuma would lead the ANC to victory in next year's election by an overwhelming majority, adding that the work of winning the election started now.

He commended Zuma for retaining former party deputy president Kgalema Motlanthe as head of the ANC political school. Ramaphosa said this showed that Zuma was committed to building the ANC and to unity.
