A pill that helps people cut down on alcohol is available in the UK. It's intended for people who drink half a bottle of wine or three pints of beer a night or more.
The prescription drug Nalmefene is said to reduce the urge to drink.
It costs £3 a dose (R52) and is recommended for those who regularly drink "a large amount" of alcohol - 7.5 units a day for men and 5 units a day for women.
The pill can be taken once a day, whenever you want to stave off the desire to drink.
