Midrand pupil arrested after allegedly killing schoolmate with scissors

A Midrand pupil was arrested by Ivory Park police on 4 May, after he allegedly stabbed and killed a fellow pupil with a pair of scissors.

Both the 19-year-old suspect and the deceased were in Grade 12, the Midrand Reporter stated.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said, “Police received a complaint from the school principal and on arrival they found the paramedics already at the scene who declared the victim dead.”

It is alleged that the two had an argument and the suspect took out a pair of scissors which he was using to cut out pictures and stabbed the victim once.

The Education department was alerted of the incident.
