Nathi Mavundla offered his neighbour's relative a lift into town on Saturday - and learned exactly why his neighbour didn't.

The Zululand Observer reports that Mavundla parked his car outside a shopping centre in Richards Bay and left his keys in the vehicle with the passenger as he went in to buy a few items.

When he got back - the car was gone.

Mavundla called the police, and word came in that his passenger had been seen spinning the car and driving recklessly in the Ntambanana area.

Recklessly, but not wrecklessly, the idiot had capsized the car.

"The number plates and disk were removed and cash and business equipment was stolen from the vehicle. The damages are estimated at about R17 000," said Mavundla.

The suspect hasn't been arrested yet.
