PICS: Striking Sanral contract workers block N1 over pay hikes
Traffic has been brought to a standstill on the N1 north from Samrand road in Midrand as road agency Sanral contract workers embarked on a strike action on Tuesday morning for a 130 percent salary increase.
Employees of Teti Traffic, a Sanral serviced provider, literally sat on the N1 north just before the New Road off ramp.
The employees are apparently protesting over pay hikes and not having had a salary increase since 2012.
#Sanral people tired of just sitting in their offices have decided to sit on the N1 North

#SANRAL claims that it creates jobs. Clearly there's more to creating jobs than just hiring greedy companies. pic.twitter.com/Ycwh6vIaQe

We understand why #SANRAL workers would be angry about no salary increases since 2012, but why affect motorists instead of #SANRAL?

Heard that #SANRAL contract workers would be doing this today. Also heard #SANRAL dismiss it as "not their problem" https://t.co/Xai5712BjF
