The Sunday Times has obtained explosive details of how one lucky company, with a shareholder linked to the Gupta family’s businesses, had two months prior notice that Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene would be fired.

Trillian Group CEO Eric Wood could not help but share the news with some of his colleagues, also later telling them that he knew  one of their colleagues, Mohammed Bobat, would be special adviser to newly appointed Des van Rooyen.

  • Ajay Gupta 'offered millions' to Jonas to 'work with us'Ajay Gupta allegedly offered Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas R600,000 in cash in a black plastic bag at his family compound in Johannesburg last year, on the day he offered Jonas the job of finance minister.

These and other sensational claims about the Trillion group scoring millions from state-owned companies for work they never did, are contained in a whistleblower’s affidavit to former public protector Thuli Madonsela as part of her state capture probe.

This story, and more, makes part of yet another enthralling instalment of the Sunday Times’s explosive exposé on state capture.
