Woman crashes car into pillar in parking lot‚ badly hurt

A woman‚ believed to be in her 50s‚ was left critically injured this afternoon when she crashed her light motor vehicle into a concrete pillar in an underground parking lot at a shopping centre.

The centre is on the corners of Leslie and Douglas Road in Fourways.

Russel Meiring from ER24 said their paramedics found her lying in her vehicle‚ which was smashed against the pillar.

Rescue medics carefully extricated her from the car to assess her‚ "finding that she had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition".

Once treated‚ the woman was transported to Life Fourways for further treatment.
