Crime intelligence officers have not vacated the unit’s headquarters in Erasmuskloof‚ Pretoria.

This is according to South African Police Union (Sapu) president Mpho Kwinika.

Kwinika said a letter of demand was served to crime intelligence head Pat Mokushane on Monday‚ and that the union would allow him time to respond. If he failed to do so the union would approach the labour court.

“If he (Mokushane) says 'go to hell' we will go to hell‚ and hell will be the labour court‚” said Kwinika.

Spokesperson for police union Popcru Richard Mamobolo said the union would be meeting with Mokushane's representatives on Thursday through the bargaining council.

“We want them to explain the rationale behind their decision and why they did not consult us on the matter‚” Mamabolo said.

He added that the next step would be determined after the meeting.
