A home believed to belong to a controversial Cape Town bouncer boss was raided by officers from the police tactical response unit on Thursday evening.

TimesLIVE arrived on the scene in the affluent suburb of Loevenstein, where several heavily-armed police stormed a residence.

A second house was reportedly raided in Parklands.

A senior police officer with direct knowledge of the raids, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that two arrests were made.

Attempts to get official comment from police were unsuccessful.

The bouncer boss – whose name is known to TimesLIVE - is linked to several underworld kingpins. His lawyer did not return requests for comment.

This is a developing story.
