The Dutch Reformed Church has decided not to appeal the High Court ruling that reversed its decision to ban same-sex unions within the church.

This means the initial 2015 decision by the church synod stands – for now. The matter will be discussed at a synod summit in October, said church spokesperson Nelius van Rensburg.
