“This is not a dysfunctional school,” said Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi at a media conference on the death of Parktown Boys’ High pupil Enock Mpianzi.
But minutes earlier he described how his department had intervened in 2018 to try to eradicate a “culture of silence” about abuse at the school.
