Judge lashes KZN social development for dithering over adoptions
The Adoption Coalition of SA has turned to the Durban High Court, accusing the provincial government officials tasked with approving placements of meddling, in part because of anti-adoption cultural beliefs.

Embattled former KZN social development head Nokuthula Khanyile has come in for a judicial tongue-lashing for her failure to deal properly and efficiently with adoptions in the province.
Khanyile was removed from her post in 2019 pending a maladministration probe, but now also faces accusations of meddling and using delaying tactics in the adoption process.
