Parents turn 13-year-old daughter in for naked selfies

A 13-year-old girl in Virgina has been turned over to police after her parents found nude pictures of her on her phone.

“We did this now to protect her for now and in the future, because this could get worse,” The girl's mother said according to Time Magazine.

“She could be taken.”

According to the Daily Mail the girl shared pictures with some people at her school, with the mother telling reporters, "Everybody wanted to be her friend, because according to these people, she was cool now."

The girl's mother also believes that she may have shared the photos with adults, as one 'sext' included a senior.

“We believe them to be 17-18ish… Definitely older than her,” the mother said.

While she may face criminal charges, the Commonwealth's Attorney Lisa Caruso believes there may be other alternatives to the court system for the girl.

The older teens meanwhile could face felony charges.
