WATCH | Smart cat knocks on door so it can be let in

A man was left dumbstruck after he witnessed a cat knocking on a door so it could be let in.

The man was passing a house in the English town of Bootle, when he saw the cat climb up a dustbin and use the door's knocker to get the homeowner's attention.

“I looked and wondered if that had just really happened - I was baffled," Dan Richardson told the Liverpool Echo. “It is not something you see everyday.”

The cat probably wanted to be let in the house, but unfortunately nobody answered the door.
