WATCH | Golfers shocked as giant gator swings in and interrupts round

Golfers had no choice but to stop playing as a massive alligator strolled across the green at The Club golf course, in Savannah Harbor, Georgia, on Tuesday.

One of the golfers, Ed Vance, was so surprised by the size of the alligator he immediately grabbed his phone and started filming it.

“It was bigger than any I ever saw and it was unique having it so close to us,” Vance told the Savannah Morning News. “It wasn’t intimidating; it was just surreal. I was in awe of the size of him.”

Alligators are a common sight on golf courses in Georgia, US, but it's unusual for them to be as big as this one. Vance estimated that it was about three metres long.
